Hey guys,

I finally got hold of a fast internet connection (grandma's house) and uploaded my movie. Tongue So, Here it is. Smiley

The film is 10:14 long on the DVD and high quality versions and is 8:17 long on the medium and low quality versions.

DVD QUALITY - 848x360 (XviD avi) - 75MB(Right Click - Save As)
NOTE about the DVD Version. This cut uses the XviD codec. It's alot like DivX except it's open-source, 100% free, no junk-ware, and it's actually BETTER compression than DivX. I'd still strongly recommend that you install the XviD codec if you want to watch this cut. DivX can decode XviD files, but I've seen to many cases of weirdness when using DivX as the decoder (like pixels that don't display properly and stuff. It's a pretty small installer anyways, and you'll be guarenteed to see the definative cut as it's meant to be played.
You can get the XviD codec here: (Windows binary installer: http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml) (Source code: http://www.xvid.org/) (Mac codec: http://www.insaneness.com/xvid.html (requires DivX, which sucks - divx.com))
Sorry for all the trouble. XviD is just a nicer codec. But it's made for geeks and isn't as straightfoward as DivX. The benefits are much better though.

High Quality - 540x230 (Sorenson3 mov) - 35MB (Streaming)
This was encoded using 2-pass Sorenson3 Pro. If you don't have DivX, XviD, or just don't want to install those codecs, go with this version. It'll work on any version of Quicktime 5.x or higher and it's awesome quality!!!

Medium Quality - 424x180 (Sorenson3 mov) - 15MB (Streaming) (w/o credits)
For people on broadband who want the movie RIGHT AWAY and don't want to download a 35MB version or people on dialup who want higher quality than the low quality

Low Quality - 212x90 (Sorenson3 mov) - 5MB (Streaming) (w/o credits)
For our beloved dial-up brethren

There's actually HUGE quality differences between the four files, so make sure to get the one you want. If you got XviD, get the DVD cut. It's like AWESOME quality, but the high quality is pretty nice too and downloads in half the time!  :peace:

You can download and listen to the original motion picture musical score (written by myself) here (mp3 files): http://www.ccfilms.com/downloads/movies/20...-soundtrack.zip

ENJOY!

Now, for a few release notes and facts about this movie.

This movie was was in "idea-land" for 1 day, then, it written over the course of just 4 days and filmed over the course of just 2 days. Also, all 7 of those days were BACK TO BACK... 1 week of work from the beginning pre-production to when post production started. And it was 1 straight week. Not like 7 days over the course of a few weeks.

The movie was intended to be "just for fun" kind of thing when we were filmming it, but seemed to turn out slightly better than planned. It still could use ALOT of work though. Tongue

The movie features a completely original soundtrack that can be downloaded at this link in a zip file (mp3s): http://www.ccfilms.com/downloads/movies/20...-soundtrack.zip

The film had about 3 weeks straight of editing and about 3 weeks (over the course of 2 months) of music composition (on and off). It really should have been released ALOT sooner, but, life happens. Tongue

This film was created in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. But I mixed it down to stereo for these cuts. Maybe once mp3s support surround, i re-release it on the net. haha! It's awesome in surround though.

And for anyone who asks what camera i filmed this movie on and what i used to edit the movie, I filmed the movie on my little $200 Digital8 handycam, I converted the footage from 60i to 24p in post (using open source free apps. YES), I edited the film with Sony Vegas 5.0 + DVD, and I usd an Audio Technica AT897 Shotgun mic for the audio. I edited the audio and mixed and wrote the music with adobe audition. It's basically off the shelf cheapo stuff with lots of digital-ness applied (then again, it's all cheapo anyways... maybe i do suck as bad as everyone says i do. I need to save up for an XL2! haha).

The movie actually has been 100% complete for about 2 weeks, I just havn't been able to get around to uploading it. My appologies. Smiley

Now, enjoy. Cheesy

EDIT 1: In reply to john moores below post: For anyone who i have shown the movie too already (about 2 weeks about privatel over AIM and email to some buddies), the XviD version is literally 2x the quality of what i show'd you already, so it's ALOT better quality than the file i sent to you guys. Tongue It's very very near the detail of the real DVD cut.

I already told you man, this film completely rocks, especially in the music and sound department.

For the most part, the acting is good, but I could see one spot where Bill was just about to smile. Smiley  All cool though. Smiley

I'm going to download the High Quality version as well to see if you changed anything.

But yeah, anyway, you know my thoughts.  And one more thing, I really liked that introductory sequence with the running.  Roxorz my Boxorz, especially being handheld and all.   Shocked

Congrats on a film well done!

I'm looking forward to your next project!

One disclaimer. I provided a high quality Quicktime for a reason! lol.

That's cuz your computer has trouble playing XviD files. It's in synch on computers that don't have trouble (I just played it on 2 computers today perfectly fine) Try installing the codec... and if you did and it's crappy, then just watch the high quality quicktime. Your just out of luck haha!

I would suggest to all that you install the LATEST UNSTABLE binary of Xvid..it's just better. Or just use the stable. I would actually suggest everyone install XviD before saying they have trouble playing it. It's a good codec. Smiley

Nice movie, very well done. The acting was a bit poor in the yelling scene but I cant realy talk. Leaves the door over to a Prequel maybe.

OK,  im home now. I was actually thinking.. Why wont i support problems with XviD? Fact is, it's experimental. Tongue So i should support problems with XviD. Tongue If you guys have any problems with the XviD can you tell me?? Thanks. Cheesy

wproductions.. when you installed the stable, did the audio go in synch and the green bar disappear? How about with the unstable? XviD is the kind of codec where you can just install over the other (I would suggest uninstalling first), but it's not weird and all licenced or nothing like DivX. I like it cuz it's simple and powerful.

But, did installing XviD fix those problems that you had? cuz if so, then It's going to be a requirement that people install XviD codec (it's not a big file anyways, so it's not like it matters).

Yes, the install fixed both, but in the URL that you linked to, it has a parenthesis that I had to delete to get to it.  Ok, you fixed the parenthesis, now it works.

I actually like the Sorenson 3 better than the Xvid.  It's a softer picture methinks, which is overall more filmlike.  Not to mention it's consistent for every frame.  The Xvid seems to, while having a higher quality, be a less stable image.  Maybe that's how the original file is though.

It's the way bframes work. That's what gives it that instability. I really like the XviD version though cuz it's got alot of detail both audio and visual. Tongue But that's just me. If I wanted that quality in Sorenson3, it'd be like a 150MB file....  :bangHead!:

At least I gave people three sorenson3 choices though! Cheesy

It was good. As everyone said the music was great- it's kind of obvious where you copied LOTR tho. The part where the son yells in the guys face is kind of ridiculous tho- looks more like a drill sargent than an angry son.
