Well, I saw it at the premiere this morning at a bright and early 12:01 AM on May 19th. How about you? How did you enjoy the flick? I relished every second of it. Tell us your favorite parts, your least favorite parts, and your all around reasons for loving or hating it.

Keep in mind this should be kept very civil, so no flaming another for opposing views. Just because some people don't like Vader's cliche "noooooo!" doesn't mean you can't like it to your heart's content.

I figure I'll post here rather than the thread in social

First the movie was awesome. I liked how lucas established the movie camera in that first (beautiful) shot of  the ship. Awesome, that was.

Yoda is still the best... and forever will be Cheesy HE PLAYED FRISBEE! HE'S AWESOME!
Plus... you can't beat that emp. vs yoda battle.

ERRORS!
-Leia, in  ROTJ says she only remember "images really" of her mother... how the **** is this possible? Unless lucas takes the chicken way out and claims it was pictures of her.
-KI-ADI-MUNDI WAS A FREAKING JEDI KNIGHT!!! when he joined the council and later a master. Either ani is an idiot or lucas is attempting to change the books from the E1 time period..... but I have them in print... so I'm calling this an error.
-The venitian blinds, checkerboard and HEART(!) transitions sucked. blah.

A couple times I thought "wow, great cg"... then again, cg shouldn't be distinct enough to question its quality.

Anyway, great film... fun time and now I must sleep.

for a final note: must say that lucas did an AMAZING job tying the trilogies together with this. Also, yep, very dark. Younglings?! Sad Bad ani.

Are you sayin' you shouldn't be able to tell when it's CG or not?

I think some stuff is just kinda blatantly CG, no matter HOW good it is.

I still must see it!  Cheesy

I thought the Dooku and Emporer fights were blatently cg...also, the dream scenes were a bit taboo for a star wars film. They just felt out of place.

I loved how they explained Qui-Gon and the immortality bit.

I thought the space battle at the beginning was too quiet and too fluid, it wasn't anywhere near as intense as it should have been. While the shot was long and beauitiful, it detracted from how it should have been.

I loved how Artoo stole back the comedy of the film, classic.

Jar Jar had no lines at all.

I loved how Alderaan looked.

I cried when Mace died. Very powerful scene.

I loved Chewie's appearance, and especially when he carried Yoda.

I loved how Yoda dealt with the royal guards.

The Kashyyk battle was a heavy reminder of the battle of Hoth.

The mouse droids in the seperatist base made me giggle.

As for the Ki Adi Mundi thing, that is as factual as saying Obi-Wan and Anakin were in fact brothers. It's just not true. Only the EU garbage.

As for the Leia remembering her mother...I have no explanation. Luke was the child held closest and longest to her after birth.

I did notice the blinds and checkerboard transitions, and while new I didn't think they sucked. I never noticed the heart one.

This film was primarily all action, with very little diologue at all, and even less exposition. I felt it did it's job perfectly.

ROTS was Awesome!
Everything was!
The fights was gr8, but...
I was a little confused in some fights cause of the sabers.
The sabers moved so fast it was difficult to see anything.
Especially Anakin vs. Obi Wan.

But, I don't know, maybe it was just me.
Anyway, it was AWESOME!

I loved this movie as a whole. I too thought it did it's job perfectly. Yes, I admit, I did cry on two occasions. One, when the Jedi were being killed and two, when Anakin was burning up.

Fast saber action just mean that all fighters were at thier prime in this episode. All saber fights kicked ass, but of course I have to agree with Daniel when he said the Yoda Emperor fight kicked the most ass.

The ending...no dialouge at all, just shots of the aftermath...very traditional. On a scale of 1-10 this film definately gets 9.5. It didn't get a 10 because the opening scene had untapped potential. More could have been done with the opening scene, I think.

I agree, the opening scene did have untapped potential..it honestly could have rivaled or easily beaten RotJ for the largest and most intense space battle ever seen on the big screen. Maybe he did it on purpose to give RotJ that same sense of scale and power?

Okay, here's what I liked and didn't about the movie:

LIKES:
- The tie-ins to Ep4 (many there were)
- Yoda's pwnzering
- The Tantive-IV...beautiful Smiley
- Ian McDiarmid, who STOLE the SHOW, he was AMAZING in his Palpatine portrayal
- When Anakin became Darth Vader and went on his rampage, fabulous.
- The Jedi Purge was powerful, my mouth was hanging open the whole time
- I loved the new transitions, checkerboard, etc....there was a heart? The new transitions were fancy, I thought, since only SW can pull those off, lol.
- Chewbacca, his short and sweet appearance was awesome, and carrying Yoda was great Smiley
- The fight between Yoda and Palpatine...he's hanging off the platform by one hand still cackling evilly...so awesome Smiley
- Generally....the whole second half after Anakin turns.

DISLIKES:
- Some of the acting and dialogue is STILL unnatural...come ON George!
- The first half was REALLY slow...the clone wars sequence at the opening was not as exciting as it could be...actually once the movie got going for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes, my best friend Jose next to me was falling asleep. It was just badly paced. The action left something to be desired, etc.
- I think Palpatine should've fought a little more dirty...he was like, going at all of the Jedi Masters in straight up lightsaber fight...he should've played more bashing with items, lighttning, etc...Dooku did it to Anakin, shouldn't Sidious?

As you can see, on a general scale, I had more likes than dislikes. This is definately the best movie of the Prequels...POSSIBLY better than Episode 4 (most will disagree for nostolgic value *sigh* but I think it may be), but I believe it's still trumped by Episodes 5 and 6.

Not bad though, I really enjoyed it, quite a ride. Go see it ^_^

And I went in costume...pics to come shortly, but I must say there was MUCH love for the Ewok... ^_^
