Wow!  It was an amazing experience, and the documentary will be a heckuva lot different than I mentally pictured.

Very interesting history this guy has.

At any rate, here are some pictures.

The first is of the mountain itself,  and the second is of his mailbox.

:-)

Enjoy!

Briefly?

He believes his message of love and hope should reach as many people as possible.

So he made a mountain somewhere that nobody would know about if there wasn't a documentary about it?

That's good marketing, actually. For you. Not him.

EXPLOIT THAT CHRIST.

*thumbs up* Heretic on, my brotha.

How long is the doc?

We're thinkin' thirty minutes, but I got over 16 hours of footage while I was there.

Could be longer.  I was just at David's, and it looks like he's got some VERY sweet ideas.  I'm looking forward to seeing this thing come together.

But uh, he's actually fairly well known.  He gets about 100 to 150 visitors a day, which was surprising.

It's a mountain made out of paint.  That's the point.

Yeah.  Basically, Leonard Knight built a hot air balloon.  It rotted in Niland, California.  Leonard decided to make a small replica balloon out of concrete.  22 years later, he's still painting, and making structures that architects come out and study to figure out exactly how they work.

It's interesting, to say the very least.  He makes trees out of car tires and old sticks from the desert, then climbs around in them about 30 feet off of the ground, painting them, at 74 years old.

Apparently, it's a fairly healthy activity.

Haha. Nice. Yeah, I've heard of this guy.

Do you have anything that gives a sense of scale?

Yeah.  I'm only a few inches taller than the letter 'O' in GOD at the top.

In other words, I'm just slightly taller than GOD.  Cheesy

P.S.  I'm 6'1", so yeah.  It's rather large.

I have videos of people standing on it.

Yeah.  With the DOF of the camera you used, it makes it look like everything's miniature.

Eh, I added too much DOF.  I actually put all of that in with Photoshop.
