Ok I was on my pc one day and discovered that my computer is not finding my cd drives. They worked fine before and now they have just vanished from the My Computer folder.

I checked and the cables are in right and I have tried switching cables, so I have no clue what has happened.
PLZ SOMEONE HELP.....................

either the drive is screwed up or your system is.

I'd suggest reloading the drivers if possible.... maybe try search for new hardware.... etc.

restart in as many ways possibly. Try safe mode, etc.

Really, though, backup everything and reformat. Its ugly, but you should do it every year or so anyone from viruses.

Or take it to your local computer store.... they might think of something.

I would normaly think the drive is bad, but seeing as how both my drives don't show up im thinking something is wrong. and when I read this thing I found somewhere on my pc it said my computer loaded the drivers, but failed to find the device.  So I am thinking I am probally gonna have to reformat.(sucks) Sad

Hmm.... yeah. I don't realy know that much about this stuff, but that's certainly gonna work, unless both drives really are broken. Heh.

Hmm... try a repair shop, maybe.... I dunno.

Yea thats why I waited, because if they are broken and I go to reformat, I can't install windows.  O well if they are and I reformat, I'll just steal one of my dads drives for a few mins.
