Alright, I post very little here, and I used to be a mod. VIP status is even too much authority for me these days. But I digress.

After working at the same gas station for almost six months, I slowly discovered that I have a regular customer, that for all intended purposes, looks very much like Samuel L. Jackson.

Now, I must confess, when I had this epiphany, I giggled like a little fanboy. My first thoughts truly were of making a fanfilm. My first mental image was of him and his trusty Royally Awesome Purple Blade. But that is where I draw my blank. I thought of the standard clichÈ Jedi Purge setting, having Windu on the run after his amazing fall from Revenge of the Sith, but that storyline has been treaded so many times...it makes Rebel Alliance watchable.

Again I digress. I also thought of the setting of the Clone Wars. I do have a set of Clonetrooper (Ep II) armor. I am capable of doing clone shots, but after my fiasco that was Clone Patrol...I learned that being the director and being the clonetrooper was hard work...and very tiresome. So I'd really like to avoid the scenario of "me dressing up as my clonetrooper" for nearly every shot.

I did have one thought cross my mind though while writing this. Anyone else remember the Ep. I Pre-Release toys? The BattleDroid STAP and Mace Windu toys? Well...taht Mace Windu came with a blue saber. Then about two years later, Episode II comes out and he suddenly has a purple blade. Many people rationalized what happened and why. My idea was to show how it happened.

So far in my head all I have is the concept of how Windu goes from a blue saber to a purple one. A minor, yet clarifying point I'd like to put a spin on.

I have access to a number of Canon XL1's with multiple shotgun mics with boom poles as well from ym college. I could amass a capable crew using my college TV production class. As stated in the beginning of this long ass post, I also have the availablility of a completely believable stand-in for Mace.

All I need now is a story to put it all to. So bounce around some ideas of what you think is feasible and would like to see. If i like some of them I'll see if I can incorporate them. If not, they might give me an idea that spawns from it. try not to include any other canon characters such as Palpatine or Vader or anything like that. try to keep it character centric, with very few other characters.

With that...I leave you to bounce away.

I still say use the trooper costume some... might be cool.

Also, think about maybe using your newfound actor only in a cameo way... and have the real story take place in some other way. This might be interesting, yet would limit  the usefullness and point of the project.

I'll give it some more thought. Cool, anyway.

...and take what you learned from clone patrol and use it well. Also, PLEASE don't use people in earth clothes Cheesy

Marcellus Wallace.

LMAO.

That's great.

Sounds cool, Cramer.  I'm assuming you've heard the 'official' (I use 'official' in the sense that it came from Lucas' camp) reason behind Mace's blue saber?  The whole "He traded with another certain Jedi for a short time as per some random Jedi custom"...

Just wondering.

Yeah, I've heard that one...

I was thinking of doing a sort of "Sword in the Stone" type transgression though.

Edit: I found a usable location for a "Jedi Temple" so to speak...

It is the Shriners' Hadji Temple and it resides about 10 minutes away from my home.

Double Post Time

After working on the ideas a little more, this is what I've come up with.
  • Windu is sent to Planet X to settle a crisis
  • Windu Learns of the "Protectors"
  • Windu learns of the sacred "Stone Saber"
  • Windu goes to the temple and begins to face the Protectors (a society or loyal servants of the Stone Saber)
  • Windu faces a couple and defeats them, but then faces their leader
  • Excitement Ensues
  • The Leader succeeds in disarming Windu by electrocuting his saber with the eletro-staff
  • Windu fights unarmed
  • Windu is pinned against the stone
  • Windu jumps and pulls the saber from the stone
  • He ignites the beautiful Violet blade
  • Death Ensues
  • The Dark side is washed away by Windu's removal of the saber

It was a take off of Durb's line "Hilarity Ensues" which I believe he took from Fark.com?

Well, the "canon" story is weak.  Hella weak.  But I don't know if I like the SitS approach either.  A big part of a Jedi is constructing his own lightsaber, and it seems kinda cheap that someone as powerful as Windu would keep one he finds.  While I like the idea of a Jedi without one needing to use the one he finds, I don't think he should keep it.  Unfortunately, that kind of nullifies your story.  Still, interesting concept.

I always figured it was linked to Bertocci.

When Bertocci makes a post, it's pure hilarity, and all I can do is Cry.  And when Bertocci makes his post, It's all insanity, and all I can do is Cry.

I believe that was before Funk-E's days at NP2k, though I think durb was already there.  Could be wrong though...

You think you could get this guy to play that big a role in a fanfilm?  You might be better off, as stated earlier, trying to talk him into making a cameo appearance...  Then, if all goes well, you'd be in a better position to talk him into doing more.

I can't help but hearing the words, "Crazy Cracka!" come out of his mouth at hearing you start off with, "Hey dude!  You wanna be in my Star Wars fanfilm?  You look just like another black guy I know...."

P.S.  Mmmm mmmm *****!

I've already talked it over with him and he said he'd do it. His goal is to try and get Jackson to see it so he can get hired as a stunt double/standin for him on major flicks. As far fetched as my own ambitions go...his outdo mine. But to each their own motives.

Ahahaha, that's great.  Hey, whatever gets your film made.  And who knows, maybe he'll succeed and Sam Jackson will see your film.  That'd be sweet.
