I must know Smiley

note: I am assuming that "ity" can be either "it-ee" or "i-tee" depending on dialects.

Purposes of this thread:
1. To find out the real answer from Ian.
2. To find out if this is understood by the general population and if I'm alone in being perplexed.

How do you even PRONOUNCE Ideality?

This is one of the most frequent questions. Seriously. There are, like, only two people in the entire world who can say it right. It's pronounced like this...

"I-D-Ality"

But don't say the dashes Smiley

...Or, if that isn't clear enough, I'll try a different way. You know "Heidi"? Like, the book? It's Heidi, but without the H. So eidi, then ality, as in Al (the name) then it (as in, you know, it) then tea (as in, yeah. tea. Or just "T" As in T ball, or a drink with jam and bread, or 20th letter of the alphabet (or am I bluffing?)).

So Heidi-H, Al's name, it (you know), T.

I have never seen such a difficult question to answer.  I thought it was:
Ii-de-ala-tie

No...  Of course, it's choice #2.  If it's not, Ian should simply consider changing the pronounciation.

Just like Reality and Realty

The ity adds the extra needed space to sound better.

The correct pronunciation sounds the best anyway.

I-dee-al-i-tee

That's how I always pronounced it from first reading it, so I must be correct Smiley C'mon Ian, tell them. Smiley
